Composites in Transportation

The Composites-In-Transportation (CIT) Symposium at Mississippi State University (MSU) will bring together industry, government, and university participants to discuss collaboration opportunities for advancing composites technologies (modeling, design, and manufacturing) and training skilled workforce. The use of advanced composite materials in various transportation industries (air, land, and sea) is increasing rapidly; however, complex composite structures are difficult to model/design and challenging to manufacture economically at high volumes and rates. Besides diverse expertise in the area of composite materials and structures, the MSU’s Raspet Flight Research Laboratory has large-scale facilities for composites manufacturing and testing with extensive experience working with both industry and government entities.
